2. What is GCP?

GCP is an abbreviation of Genistein Combined Polysaccharide. GCP is a novel functional health food produced by fermentation of soybean isoflavone extracts with basidiomycetes. GCP contains rich content of isoflavone aglycones, especially genistein, as well as being rich in polysaccharides delivered from basidiomycetes. We successfully transfer isoflavone glucoside form into isoflavone aglycones by using B-glucosidase-producing basidiomycetes by our own original technology (Fig. 1). As a result, GCP combines the character of genistein, which effects on anti-angiogenesis, with the character of basidiomycete polysaccharides, which enhance immune response, and finally, exerts their anti-tumor activities.
